Mary Njoroge is currently a fifth year medical student at Kenya Methodist University located in Kenya. She participated in a German language workshop focusing on online journalism and school magazines at Corat Africa and German School, Nairobi in 2012. She served as the Nation Officer for the Standing Committee on Research (SCOR 2019/2020) working under the Medical Students’ Association of Kenya (MSAKE) and the International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA). During her tenure, Mary organised online forums aimed at demystifying research publications to medical students. In addition to that, she partnered with AMREF in organising an online forum discussion on research as a catalyst for healthcare and law. She made a presentation on the role of research in policy making at the annual Medical Students’ Association of Kenya General Assembly in 2019. She organised training of MSAKE local officers on the fundamentals of research and also facilitated a training on conceptualisation of research ideas at the research club in her university. Mary is among the pioneer peer reviewers at RePub, an online student journal. She was part of the first runners up team at a medical hackathon challenge during the World Healthcare Students’ Symposium (WHSS) held in Rwanda 2018. She's a research enthusiast with an interest in surgery and global health.
