Melissa MHANNA

Project Vice-Coordinator & Arabic Language Translator

 

Melissa Mhanna is a Lebanese Medical Student, at Saint Joseph University of Beyrouth. On a side note, she studies Masters in Biological and Medical Sciences and Research.

Melissa is also a participant in the Research Oncology Forum (FRON) of her faculty.

 

She is an active member at the International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA) and the former National Exchange Officer at the Lebanese Medical Students International Committee (LeMSIC).

She is the Coordinator of the 1st LeMSIC Summer School, which is a kind of a National Exchange including internships in Lebanese Hospitals, also trainings and workshops on medical professional skills and soft skills as well, with a cozy social program so medical students within the same country, build connections with each other.

She is also part of numerous projects and campaigns, as the LeMSIC Free Medical Day and the Orphanage Health Day, also the Anti-Microbial Resistance and COVID-19 Awareness Campaigns and many others.

 

Moreover, Melissa is passionate about Capacity Building, she is a Certified Trainer and she tirelessly delivers training sessions about many topics as Advocacy, Feedbacks, Global Health within Exchanges, Academic Quality of Exchanges, How to write a CV and a Motivation Letter and soft skills.

 

Melissa has recently launched an online awareness campaign on Instagram @wise.wounds, about mental health and psychosocial interventions as music therapy, laugh therapy  and speaking out, during the tough times.

 

Last but not least, Melissa loves volunteering and helping others.

Some facts about her: Her life goal is to become a successful surgeon.

She loves partying, working out, shopping, writing and travelling!

 

Her life motto is “ Ambition, Passion, Perseverance”.
