Mohamed Lahai Samura Jr is a 5th Year Medical Student, Entrepreneur, Public Speaker and Health Volunteer from Sierra Leone. He is currently studying at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone (COMAHS-USL). He is the CEO of an online Restaurant (D’COOKERY). He spent most of his childhood life in Libya, and other North African countries where his father served as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, with multiple accreditations to The Kingdom of Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Malta and Chad. Mohamed attended the International School of Martyrs in Tripoli, Libya (Kindergarten to Grade 10), and continued high school at The
Lebanese International School in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He participates in a lot of College and extracurricular activities, prioritizing Mental Health campaigns. He is a member of various college/non-college organizations (Student Representative Council (SRC), Sierra Leone Medical Students’ Association (SLEMSA), Students’ Association for Mental Health in Sierra Leone (SAMH-SL), Federation of African Medical Students’ Association (FAMSA), Vision-Sierra Leone and Archer’s Cervical Cancer Foundation, (ACCF). Mohamed is inspired and motivated to represent his country internationally, in areas that will fulfil his ambition to become a successful medical practitioner.
He currently serves as the Chairman of Planning, Research and Project Development, SRC-COMAHS, Co-Founder and Director of Logistics, Vision-Sierra Leone, and FAMSA’s National Officer in Sierra Leone. He was part of a four-man team that organized the largest march in the history of Sierra Leone in relation to World Mental Health Day on October 14, 2019. Throughout the years, Mohamed has earned a reputation as a worthy and well-respected student. His hobbies are cooking, sports, reading, music and videogames. He also wants to be a Gastroenterologist, with a background in Psychology.
