Melissa M. Mhanna


Melissa Mhanna is a passionate Lebanese Medical Student, at Saint Joseph University of Beyrouth. She is also studying Masters in Biological and Medical Sciences and Research. Melissa is now the Director of Research, Outreach and Education at Oli Health Magazine Organization (OHMO). OHMO's works were recognised by the United Nations (UN) and got featured in Forbes Magazine. Moreover, the OHMO's works got covered several times both nationally, regionally and internationally.

Melissa is a Certified Trainer at the International Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA) and the former National Exchange Officer at the Lebanese Medical Students International Committee (LeMSIC).

She is a super active person: she is the Coordinator of the 1st LeMSIC Summer School, which is a kind of a National Exchange covering the professional, capacity building and adventurous parts of an Exchange but within the same country. She has launched and participated so far in numerous projects and campaigns (Mental Health, Anti-Microbial Resistance, Breast Cancer, Career Fair, World Health Day... etc).

Moreover, Melissa is passionate about Capacity Building, she tirelessly attends and delivers training sessions about many topics as Advocacy, Feedbacks, Global Health within Exchanges, Academic Quality of Exchanges, How to write a CV and a Motivation Letter and all kind of soft skills.

On the other hand, Melissa was the vice-coordinator of the OHMO’s Coronavirus Global Awareness Project, in partnership with Harvard Medical Students. She took part of two videos “Global Awareness” and “What did quarantine teach you?”, published two articles: one, in the Arabic language, on Harvard Medical Students Curriculum and the other one on OHMO’s website.

Last but not least, Melissa loves volunteering and helping others.

Some facts about her: Her life goal is to become a successful surgeon.

She loves partying, working out, shopping, writing and specially travelling!

Her life motto is “Ambition, Passion, Perseverance”.
